How to create an event in Cvent

  1. Go to your Cvent account
  2. Log in to your account
  3. Click on Create Event
  4. You will see 4 options.  Copy event, Use Template, Start Fresh and Set Up later.  If you haven't used Cvent before, the two usable options are Start Fresh and Set Up Later.  
  5. Fill in your details for your event
  6. Click Create Event
  7. Your event will be listed

How to embed a TINT board on Cvent

How to enable the Website feature

First, you will need to enable Website as an event feature to be able to embed a TINT board.

To do this: 

  1. Click on the event you would like to add the TINT board to
  2. Click on Add Event Features.  If you don't see this option, you might have used Set Up Later.  This gives you the option of Start Building your event in place of Add Event Features.  Do this first and then the Add Event Features option will appear in its place.
  3. Find the Website option and click +Add
  4. This will add the website option in the left-hand menu

This is where you can design the event website.

How to place your embed on a Cvent Website page

  1. Click on Website in the left-hand menu if you are not already in there
  2. Click on Open Site Design
  3. Click Finished to see the other options on the right-hand side
  4. Click on Build 
  5. Scroll down to Page Elements and find the option Code.  If you do not see this, go to this article and submit a case with Cvent to enable this feature.  Then drag and drop this code feature on where you want to place it.   Another way to get this is to click on the + sign on where you would like to put this and a pop-up window with the same option in the build menu will appear
  6. This will open the popup window on the right-hand side so you can place the embed
  7. To get your TINT embed into your Cvent website, go into TINT
  8. Navigate either to the TINT board that you would like to display or you can go into Personalizations. 
    • From a TINT board: 
      1. Click on Display on your left-hand side
      2. Pick your personalization (web embed version) and click Next
      3. Go through your options in General and Advanced
      4. Once done, open the dropdown Embed Code to copy your web embed snippet
    • From a Personalization: 
      1. Click on Display on your left-hand side
      2. Pick the TINT board that you want the Web Embed for  and click Next
      3. Go through your options in General and Advanced
      4. Once done, open the dropdown Embed Code to copy your web embed snippet
  9. Once you have copied your Embed, you can click Save to save the changes and then click Publish to put it live on your Cvent website

How to enable the Attendee Hub Feature 

First, you will need to enable Attendee Hub as an event feature to be able to embed a TINT board.

To do this: 

  1. Click on the event you would like to add the TINT board to
  2. Click on Add Event Features.  If you don't see this option, you might have used Set Up Later.  This gives you the option of Start Building your event in place of Add Event Features.  Do this first and then the Add Event Features option will appear in its place.
  3. Find the Attendee Hub option and click +Add
  4. This will add the Attendee Hub option in the left-hand menu

How to place your embed on a Cvent Attendee Hub

  1. Click on Attendee Hub in the left-hand menu if you are not already in there
  2. Click on Manage website and app
  3. On this new page, click on the dropdown Feature in the left-hand menu
  4. Click on Session Content
  5. Scroll down to Audience Engagement and click on Set Up on Code Widget feature.  If you have previously set up a code, it will say Manage.
  6. Click Create Code Widget 
  7. Choose a Name and a Widget Icon and Click Save
  8. Then click Select Sessions.  If at this point, you have no sessions to select, you will have to come out of this page to create your sessions.  Click here on how to do this.  You will need to add the Agenda Feature to your Event before you can add a session, click here on how to do this
  9. Select the Sessions you want 
  10. Click Done
  11. Click Add Code to the Session you want to add your TINT embed to
  12. A new pop-up window will appear to put your embed in
  13. To get your TINT embed into your Cvent Session, go into TINT
  14. Navigate either to the TINT board that you would like to display or you can go into Personalizations. 
    • From a TINT board: 
      1. Click on Display on your left-hand side
      2. Pick your personalization (web embed version) and click Next
      3. Go through your options in General and Advanced
      4. Once done, open the dropdown Embed Code to copy your web embed snippet
    • From a Personalization: 
      1. Click on Display on your left-hand side
      2. Pick the TINT board that you want the Web Embed for  and click Next
      3. Go through your options in General and Advanced
      4. Once done, open the dropdown Embed Code to copy your web embed snippet
  15. Once you have copied your Embed, you can click Add Code to save the changes 
  16. Once you are happy with your session, you can click Update Page 
  17. A new pop-up will appear for you to publish your changes to your website and app
  18. To preview your changes to see what your widget looks like, register yourself for the session where you have placed the widget and log into the Attendee Website
