How to prepare your CSV file for upload

Your Product CSV file can include the following:

  • brand: the name of the brand
  • name: the name of the product
  • description: the description of the product
  • image_url: the url of the product image
  • currency: which currency the product is being sold in.  For example, GBP, USD, EUR...
  • categories: what category this product fits in. If it's multiple categories, you must put a comma between categories.
  • url: the url of the product
  • availability: what the availability of the product is. Choose from the following options:
    • in_stock - default if not provided
    • out_of_stock
    • preorder
    • available_for_order
    • discontinued
    • pending
  • status: what you want the status to be in TINT
    • active - default if not provided
    • archived
  • price: what the price of the product is. Prices should not contain symbols other than . to separate the decimals (e.g. 9.99 for 9.99)
  • sale_price: the sale price if you have one. Prices should not contain symbols other than . to separate the decimals (e.g. 9.99 for 9.99)
  • sale_price_starts_at: when the sale on this product starts. Dates must be in ISO8601 format (e.g. 2022-03-01T19:48:41+00:00)
  • sale_price_ends_at: when the sale on this product ends. Dates must be in ISO8601 format (e.g. 2022-03-01T19:48:41+00:00)

The following needs to be included for the CSV file to upload correctly:

name

sku

description - the description can be blank but the column needs to be in the CSV file

You need to make sure that the file has no duplicate SKUs and that there are no line breaks in the fields.

You can also download a sample CSV to see how the file is constructed.  You can either find this when you click on Product Feed > +Add > CSV > next and click on View Sample CSV or

click here to download it now.

How to use the filter

Inside the view products, you have the filter so when you have a lot of products you can search for them easily.

The options:

Search - This option is for searching what comes under Product which comes from the name in the CSV file

Brand - This option is for filtering by brand which is picked up from your CSV file

Category - This option(s) is picked up from your CSV file

Availability - This option(s) is picked up from your CSV file

Active/Archived - with this option, you can see active products or archived.  Active is the default if not filled in on the CSV file

The options that come up in the filter are based on your CSV file and what it contains so the more information that's in the CSV file, the more options you will see.  This is what my sample CSV file contains:
