Things you should know about feeds
- The link between a feed and TINT, a token, can expire for a number of reasons.
For example, the natural expiration time of the token based on the individual Social Networks rules, changing a password, changing the email address, security reasons, and logging out of the social network platform, … - Instagram and Facebook are connected. If anything happens to the token on Facebook’s side, it can affect Instagram’s social feed connection.
- Instagram will only allow us up to 24 hours of content when you refresh a non-branded feed. This is based on Instagram’s algorithm and it’s not something we can change on our side.
There are normally two ways of seeing that the feeds are not pulling in any content.
The usual way is to see the yellow exclamation mark next to your social feed in TINT:
The other way is when your content hasn't been updated. To double-check that the feed is not pulling content without the yellow exclamation mark, go to the social network, for example, Facebook and look up a page that you’ve set up, if you see posts that aren’t in your TINT, then it’s possible that it’s not pulling the content.
The first way is when you get a yellow resolve button like this:
- Navigate to your name in the top right corner
- Click on Team Settings
- Click on Social Accounts
- Find your Name/Account in the list or use the search bar at the top
- Click the yellow-orange “Resolve” button
- It will automatically open a popup box linked to the social media type that you are trying to add. It's possible that this pop-up box will flash and disappear if you are already logged in but it might ask you to log in and/or confirm to give TINT authorization again.
- The yellow resolve button should disappear from next to the social account
The second way is through when you are adding a feed.
- Click on the feed you want to add
- Click on the Select account
- Here you will see a yellow exclamation next to your name
- Click on this and it will automatically open a popup box linked to the social media type that you are trying to add. It's possible that this pop-up box will flash and disappear if you are already logged in but it might ask you to log in and/or confirm to give TINT authorization again.
How to re-authorize your account
- Navigate to your name in the top right corner
- Click into Team Settings
- Click into Social Accounts
- Find your Name/Account in the list or use the search bar at the top
- click on the ... at the side of your name
- click on re-authorize, it will automatically open a popup box linked to the social media type that you are trying to add. It's possible that this pop-up box will flash and disappear if you are already logged in but it might ask you to log in and/or confirm to give TINT authorization again.
- Log into the accounts you own
To link your Facebook account to TINT to pull content, you need to have a Facebook Business Page or your company will need to make you administrator on their page(s).
Ways to check this can vary depending if you use Facebook's Business Suite or New Page Experience to manage your pages.
The following is for New Page Experience:
-
Click on this link to bring up a list of all the pages that you manage. Here you will be able to see if you have a page role but you need to be admin/page owner for it to link correctly to TINT. If you do not see the page you are looking for, this means that you don't have a role on the page. Ask the page owner or admin to add you to the page you need to use on TINT.
- If the link doesn't work, you will have to switch on the page that you want to check. Click on the profile circle in the right-hand corner and click see all pages if you don't see the page that you need. Click on the page.
- Once you have switched over to the correct page, click on the profile circle again and Click on Settings
- Click on New Page Experience
- They either should be listed under People with Facebook access (which used to be Facebook Admin) or Business account access which would indicate the page owner.
How to add someone as an admin onto a Facebook Page
To add someone as admin, the page owner or someone else who is admin needs to go on this link, and click on the relevant page.
- You will have to switch on the page that you want to add them to. Click on the profile circle in the right-hand corner and click see all pages if you don't see the page that you need. Click on the page.
- Once you have switched over to the correct page, click on the profile circle again and Click on Settings
- Click on New Page Experience
- Click Add new next to People with Facebook Access to give them the correct access.
- This will open a popup window and you will need to find them by name or email address.
- Click on Give Access. This adds them to the list but says the invitation expires in 31 days. If you want to cancel the invitation, click on the ... next to their name and that will revoke the invitation.
- This should send a notification to the person you are adding. This sometimes is a notification but sometimes, it's an email depending on settings. Once they accept, they will have access to the page.
